For Medical Professionals

For Doctors, Clinicians & Surgeons
GUNDERSEN & PRICE works directly with physicians, surgeons, dermatologists, and clinicians to provide precise, consistent, and professionally documented medical photographs for use in your practice.  Referring your patients to a dedicated medical photographer means your office staff are not tasked with managing the photographic process. We handle scheduling, patient communication, image delivery, and archival storage.  Freeing your team to focus on care.

Why refer your patients to GUNDERSEN & PRICE?
Our photographers follow strict clinical protocols to ensure that your pre-operative and post-operative images are consistent in lighting, framing, and exposure.  Session after session, year after year. These are not snapshots. They are accurate, reproducible photographic references made specifically for clinical use.

Photographs may be used for:
  • Pre- and post-operative documentation
  • Consultations and treatment planning
  • Teleconsultations and remote assessments
  • Publication, lectures, and teaching
  • Disease monitoring and treatment response tracking
  • Surgical planning reference sets
  • Patient self-monitoring and monthly skin self-examination

We follow the BCA and IMI code of ethics and adhere to HIPAA guidelines. All sessions are by appointment only, ensuring maximum privacy for your patients. A female photographer is available upon request.

Delivery
Completed photographs are delivered directly to you, your hospital, or your institution. Your patient does not need to return to retrieve images. We provide color or black & white photographs in both print and digital formats. File naming, folder structure, and delivery method can be tailored to your practice's workflow.
For Aestheticians & Nurse Practitioners
GUNDERSEN & PRICE also works with aestheticians, nurse practitioners, and medical spas to provide professional photographic documentation for cosmetic and aesthetic treatments.  In aesthetic practice, the photograph is as important as the treatment itself. Consistent, well-lit, accurately framed before and after images protect your practice, demonstrate your results, and set you apart from competitors whose documentation relies on inconsistent in-office snapshots.

Treatment Documentation
We provide pre- and post-treatment photography for a wide range of aesthetic procedures, including:
  • Injectables: Botox, dermal fillers, lip augmentation
  • Laser and light-based treatments: resurfacing, IPL, photofacial
  • Chemical peels and microdermabrasion
  • Skin rejuvenation and tightening treatments
  • Body contouring procedures
  • Combination treatment series documented over time

Our photographs are taken under controlled, repeatable conditions with the same lighting, the same distance, the same angles.  Your before and after images are a true and defensible comparison, not a flattering one.
Practice Marketing Photography
Your website and social media presence are often a prospective client's first impression of your practice. Generic or poorly lit photographs undermine confidence in your work before a consultation has even been scheduled.
GUNDERSEN & PRICE provides professional photography to support your practice's marketing, including:
  • Before and after treatment series suitable for your website and social platforms
  • Studio-quality portraits of your practitioners
  • Detail photography of treatment areas for educational content
  • Documentation sets that can serve dual purpose as both clinical record and marketing asset

All marketing photography is produced with the same technical precision as our clinical work. Images are delivered in formats ready for web, print, and social media use.

FAQ's

How do I refer a patient? Simply have your patient call us at 212-744-2044 to schedule an appointment. We will confirm the session details with you and send your patient preparation instructions in advance.

Can I specify the photographic protocol I need? Yes. We work to your specifications. If your practice uses a particular protocol, framing standard, or set of required views, please provide them and we will follow them precisely. If you do not have a protocol in place, we can recommend one appropriate to your specialty.

How are the images delivered to me? Digitally, directly to your office or institution. If you require print photographs as well, we provide those in color. We do not outsource any work; everything is handled locally by the same individual from start to finish.

Can photographs be used in publications or for teaching? Yes. Our photographs are produced at a quality suitable for publication, lectures, and educational use.

What if my patient requires follow-up sessions? Post-operative and follow-up sessions are scheduled in the same way as the initial appointment. We maintain consistency with the original views so that your pre- and post-operative images are directly comparable.

Are photographs admissible if a case becomes a medico-legal matter? Yes. Our images are unedited, accurately documented, and of sound provenance, making them acceptable for use in mediations, settlements, and court proceedings. Please see our Medico-Legal page for more information.

Do you offer Total Body Photography for dermatology referrals? Yes. We provide Total Body Photography (TBP) / Mole Mapping to patients referred by dermatologists and medical centers. Please see our Total Body Photography page for full details, including CPT code 96904 for insurance reimbursement.

Can I send clients to you directly, without being present? Yes. We work from your specifications. Provide us with the treatment areas, required views, and any particular framing instructions and we will follow them consistently for every client you refer.

How do before and after images differ from standard medical photographs? The fundamental approach is the same: controlled lighting, consistent positioning, and repeatable framing. For aesthetic documentation we can also accommodate the specific views most relevant to your treatments and the platforms on which you intend to use the images.

Can these photographs be used on my website and social media? Yes, provided you have the appropriate patient consent in place. We deliver images in formats suitable for both digital and print use. We recommend discussing consent and usage rights with your patients prior to scheduling.

Do you retouch the images? No. Our photographs are accurate representations of your results. Retouching undermines their value as both a clinical record and a credible marketing asset. The quality of the result speaks for itself in a properly taken photograph.
